*Risograph (often called Riso) is a form of digital duplication, a printmaking method evolved from the mimeograph and popularized by RISO Inc in the 1980s. Since then, artists have picked up Risograph machines as an artistic tool. Known and lauded for it’s vibrant colors, energy and quantity efficiency, Riso allows artist to infuse their work with drama, magic and a touch of unpredictability. Each print is completely unique as the Riso machines use spinning drums to print each color in layers. This brings some unique results that vary from machine to machine and from printmaker to printmaker.
**Small ink smudges from the printer rollers or variations in color between prints are a normal feature of Risograph printing. These are unavoidable and showcase the whimsy and unpredictability of Riso printing!
